San Francisco Rainbow Koi formed in 2004 as California's first and only lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered (LGBT) dragon boat team. While the original team competed as a novice team at the California Dragon Boat Association (CDBA) Treasure Island race, in 2005 coach Jennifer Eng re-formed the team and stepped us up to a recreational team. While open to all, our focus is to increase the visibility of LGBT athletes through the exciting sport of dragon boating.
